Some National Working Committee (NWC) members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are jittery following a “grand plan” to replace them at the party’s national convention coming up in April this year. Daily Trust learnt that some of them would be replaced because of “alleged disloyalty” to their state governors.

A senior member of the party, who said the anxiety affects mostly the NWC members from the North-West, South-East and South-South geo-political zones, said that are reportedly not in the same camps with the incumbent APC governors in their states.

It was gathered that the delay in the conduct of the convention since last year could be attributed to such fear of the unknown. Last Wednesday, the party’s national publicity secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, said in a statement in Abuja that the APC national convention would hold not later than April this year.

Abdullahi said the decision on the convention was one of outcomes of the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting, which was presided over by the party’s national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

He said the processes leading to the national convention would commence with the congress to fill vacancies in the state party structures across the country.
